Tip 1, the use of copper rod and manual hammer installation


This is a simple way to install small and medium-sized bearings. When the inner ring of the bearing is a tight fit and the outer ring is a loose fit, the copper rod is pressed close to the end face of the inner ring of the bearing, and the copper rod is hit directly with a hammer. The force is transferred through the copper rod and the bearing is mounted slowly on the shaft.


When the inner ring of the bearing is large, the copper rod can be used to knock evenly around the end face of the inner ring of the bearing. Do not knock only on one side, nor too hard. It should be mounted symmetrically and gently to avoid oblique cracking of the bearing.


Tip 2. Use sleeve installation


This method is the same as using copper rod to install bearings. It is to press the sleeve directly on the bearing end face (bearing mounted on the shaft to press the inner ring end face; When it is installed in the shell hole, press the outer ring end face), the hand hammer knocking force can be evenly distributed on the whole ring end face of the installed bearing, and can be used with the press, the installation saves labor and time, and the quality is reliable. The sleeve used for installation shall be made of soft metal (copper or mild steel tubes are acceptable).


If the bearing is installed on the shaft, the inner diameter of the sleeve should be slightly greater than the journal 1-4mm, and the outer diameter should be slightly less than the diameter of the inner ring of the bearing, or the thickness of the sleeve shall prevail. The thickness should be made of 2/3-4/5 of the thickness of the inner ring of the bearing, and both ends of the sleeve should be flat and perpendicular to the barrel body. If the bearing is installed in the hole, the outer diameter of the sleeve should be slightly less than the outer diameter of the bearing.


Technique 3, press into the method


The installation pressure should be directly applied to the end face of the interference fit bearing ring, otherwise it will cause compression injury on the working surface of the bearing, leading to the bearing damage quickly.


Tip 4. Heating installation


For the installation of large interference bearing or large size bearing, in order to facilitate installation, the principle of thermal expansion and cold contraction can be used to heat the bearing in the oil tank and install it with copper rod, sleeve and hand hammer. Heating temperature is generally controlled below 100℃, 80-90℃ is more appropriate.


When the temperature is too high, it is easy to cause the annealing of bearing ring raceway and rolling body, affect the hardness and wear resistance, and lead to the reduction of bearing life and premature scrap.
