What is a crossed roller bearings? What types are there?

In crossed roller bearings, the rolling elements generally use cylindrical rollers or tapered rollers to cross each other on a single raceway.

The rollers are separated by retainers or spacers.

The auxiliary bearing has the advantages of high rotation precision, large bearing capacity, small size, high speed and good rigidity, and has a wide range of uses and advantages that other types of bearings cannot match.

Generally speaking, according to the different rolling elements, crossed roller bearings can be divided into crossed cylindrical roller bearings and crossed tapered roller bearings.

In this sharing, let's take a look at the classification of crossed roller bearings.

The structure of the crossed roller bearing is divided into three forms: the outer ring split type, the inner ring integral type; the outer ring whole, the inner ring whole; and the whole inner ring and outer ring.

The rollers in the type raceway are separated by spacers. This special structure enables the bearing to withstand various loads such as axial load, radial load and overturning moment.

Types of Crossed Roller Bearings:

1. RB type crossed roller bearing (outer ring split type, inner ring rotating)

This series is the basic type of crossed cylindrical roller bearings. The dimensions of the inner and outer rings are minimized.

Its structure is that the outer ring is split, and the inner ring is designed in one piece, which is suitable for parts that require high rotation accuracy of the inner ring. .

2. RE type (split inner ring, rotating outer ring)

This series of models is a new model produced with the RB type design concept, and the main dimensions are the same as the RB type.

Its structure is that the inner ring is split, and the outer ring is one-piece design, which is suitable for parts that require high rotation accuracy of the outer ring.

3. RU type (integration of inner and outer rings)

Due to the machining of the mounting holes, this series of models does not require a fixed flange and a support seat.

In addition, due to the integrated structure of the inner and outer rings with seats, installation has little impact on performance, and stable rotation accuracy and torque can be obtained. Can be used for outer and inner ring rotation.

4. CRB type (outer ring split type, inner ring rotating)

Its structure is that the outer ring is split, the inner ring is one-piece design, and there is no cage full complement roller bearing.

It is suitable for parts that require high rotation accuracy of the inner ring.

CRBC type (outer ring split type, inner ring rotating)

Its structure is that the outer ring is split, the inner ring is one-piece design, and a full complement roller bearing with a cage is provided. It is suitable for parts that require high rotation accuracy of the inner ring.

CRBH type (integrated type with inner and outer rings)

The inner and outer rings of this series are of one-piece structure for the rotation of the outer and inner rings.

5.RA type (outer ring split type, inner ring rotation)

This series of models is a compact type that minimizes the thickness of the RB-type inner and outer rings.

Ideal for applications that require a lightweight, compact design, such as industrial robots and manipulator rotation.

RA-C type (single-fission type)

The main dimensions are the same as the RA type. Since this model has a notch structure on the outer ring, the outer ring also has high rigidity,

So it can also be used for outer ring rotation.

7. XR/JXR type (cross tapered roller bearing)

This type of bearing has two sets of raceways and rollers, which are combined at right angles to each other, and the rollers are staggered and opposite.

The cross-sectional height of the bearing is similar to that of a single-row bearing, which saves space and housing material, and the large taper angle and tapered geometry design make the overall effective span of the bearing several times the width of the bearing itself.

Cross-tapered rollers can withstand high overturning moments and are suitable for machine tools, including vertical boring machines and grinding machine tables, machine tool precision circular indexing tables, large gear bobbing machines, turrets, industrial robots, etc.
