Notes on the use of bearings:

Rolling bearings are precision components, and their use must be handled with corresponding care. The use of Wang Yi is as follows:

(1) Keep the bearing and its surroundings clean,

Even small dust that is invisible to the eye can have a bad effect on the bearing. Therefore, keep the surroundings clean so that dust does not invade the bearing.

(2) Use with care. If the bearing is strongly impacted during use, scars and indentations will occur, which will become the cause of accidents. In severe cases, the bearing will crack or even break, so you must pay attention.

(3) Use proper operating tools, and proper tools must be used.

C4) Pay attention to the rust of the bearing. Sweat on your hands can be the cause of rust when handling bearings. Be careful to operate with clean hands, preferably with gloves.

Correct installation of bearings

Unpack before installation. Generally, it is lubricated with grease, and it is directly filled with grease without cleaning. Lubricating oil does not generally need to be cleaned, but bearings for instruments or high-speed use should be washed with clean oil to remove the rust inhibitor coated on the bearings. Bearings with rust inhibitor removed are easy to rust, so they cannot be left alone. Bearings that have been sealed with grease can be used directly without cleaning.

The installation method of the bearing varies depending on the bearing structure, fit and conditions. Generally, since most of the shafts rotate, the inner ring needs an interference fit. When installing to the housing, the outer ring generally has a clearance fit and has an interference amount, which is usually pressed in by a press, or there is a shrink fit method for installation after cooling. When dry ice is used as a coolant and shrink fit is used for installation, moisture in the air will condense on the surface of the bearing. Therefore, appropriate anti-rust measures are required.

Bearing lubrication

The purpose of lubricating rolling bearings is to reduce the internal friction and wear of the bearing and prevent sticking. The lubrication effect is as follows:

I) Reducing rubbing and friction

In the ferrule that constitutes the bearing, the mutual contact part of the rolling element anti-retainer prevents metal contact and reduces friction and wear.

(2) Extend the fatigue life. The rolling fatigue life of the bearing is extended when the rolling contact surface is well lubricated during travel. Conversely, if the oil viscosity is low and the lubricating oil film thickness is not good, it will be shortened.

(3) Discharge frictional heat for cooling. The oil circulation method, etc., can use oil to discharge heat generated by friction or heat from the outside, and cool it. Prevent the bearing from overheating and prevent the aging of the lubricating oil itself.

(4) Others

It also has the effect of preventing foreign matter from entering the inside of the bearing, or preventing rust and corrosion.
